To be honest, I'm not overly fond of afternoons. That is- I find myself much more attracted to the slightly mysterious depths of dusk and dawn than boring ol' daylight. I almost despise noon, I guess noon is the most prosaic time ever. No, say one o'clock. That's even worse. One until three. But then, twenty to five- sometimes there's some calm and soft and ... welcoming quality to that time of day. I like to already feel evening coming even though the signs are still very subtle- like shadows getting deeper and light mellowing and that summery scent getting sweeter-
I had many of these afternoons in Sweden. -edit: This picture is actually rather cheesy.  |
